The BFF Bag Pattern gives you the opportunity to sew the go-to bag you’ll always want by your side. She’s sized perfectly to carry all your essentials and can be worn around the waist or across the chest.

The BFF Bag Pattern by HavinSewMuchFun is a thoughtfully created sewing pattern intended for use by fellow home sewists.

The digital pattern contains detailed cutting specifications, two printable templates, and illustrated assembly instructions.

The BFF Bag features-

  • zippered top

  • exterior snap pocket

  • handle

  • custom-sized, adjustable strap with clasp

  • interior slip pocket

  • interior zippered pocket

  • clean finishing

Approximate finished dimensions- 10” wide x 4” high x 2” deep (25cm x 10cm x 5cm).

required Materials

  • Main fabric, 1/3 yard (0.3 meter). Suitable fabrics include- medium and heavy weight, rigid twill (>8oz), denim, canvas, waxed canvas, home décor. (Lighter-weight outer fabrics can be used as well, but ought to be stabilized with interfacing or pre-quilting.)

  • Lining fabric, 1/2 yard (0.3 meter). Quilting cotton or similar

  • Fusible woven interfacing, 1 fat quarter (FQ) (1/4 meter). Recommended interfacing such as SF101 or similar.

  • Accent fabric for bias binding, 1 FQ (1/4 meter), requires piecing; 2/3 yard (0.6 meter) continuous yardage. May substitute premade bias ½” double-fold, 2 yards (2 meters)

  • Webbing, 1” (25mm), 1-2 yards (1 - 2 meters)

  • Zippers- 14” (35cm) exterior/main, 10” (25cm) interior

  • 1 D-ring, 1 inch (25mm)

  • 1 swivel clasp, 1 inch (25mm)

  • 1 slider, 1 inch (25mm)

  • 1 Heavy duty bag snap (or magnetic closure), ~1/2 - 5/8” (20-24L)

  • Optional- double cap rivets, ~8mm

Both right-handed and left-handed versions are detailed.

The PDF pattern is 13 pages total, in US letter. Two A4 pattern pages are included in a separate PDF.
