Mood Sewing Network, first edition: couch couture
I had simple plans for my first haul from Mood Fabrics. I had picked out some yummy French terry and was going to make some sweatpants and a matching sweatshirt. Nothing fancy or swanky.* Basic Couch Couture™. Easy. cozy, apropos.
And somehow those 3 yards of loopy heaven ended up becoming a mini-capsule with 4 pieces…and something for the dog.
I know. Weird times.
The pants came first. Cropped joggers, modified to remove the extra layer of bulk that comes with a faced pocket, from a tried and true pattern.
Then a fun coordinated hoodie with faux piping added for contrast.
I found I still had plenty left to make a fitted tank.
AND another top from the same raglan pattern. I took the lead from the fabric wanting to roll up and show off its lofty loops, leaving off the hem band. At the genius suggestion of a friend***, I widened the neckline for an off the shoulder option.
After some wear, I decided to widen the neck a bit more and add a neckband.
I love that I can mix and match the pieces with other clothing items in my wardrobe, like ready to wear leggings and other beloved tees (both shown below).
But wait. There’s more. The Kraken got a new shirt. Don’t let her face fool you. It’s just RBF.
I actually spend much more time in my favorite blue chair than I do on the couch.
From chair to bed and back again. These pieces are cozy af.
Clearly, I love every piece. If you haven’t felt bamboo FT, you need to have some in your life. This particular kind is buttery soft, with great stretch and recovery.
Thanks, Mood! I'm looking forward to next month’s Mood Sewing Network project (read more about my participation here). And congratulations again to the winner of the $50 store credit giveaway.
